2.1.1.    To credit back the Annual Cardmembership Fee in the first year of Cardmembership, the Cardmember must spend at least AED 10,000 on Purchase Transactions within the first three (3) months of receiving his or her Card. If the Cardmember fulfills this condition, the Annual Membership Fee will be credited back in the 5th month statement.

2.1.2.   For the Annual Cardmembership Fee in the second year of Cardmembership to be credited back, the Cardmember must spend at least AED 40,000 on Purchase Transactions within the first twelve (12) months of receiving his or her Card. If the Cardmember fulfills this condition, the Annual Cardmembership Fee will be credited back in the 13th month statement. The spends on Purchase Transactions that were calculated towards the FeeBack of the first year of Cardmembership, as described above, will also be calculated towards the FeeBack of the second year of Cardmembership.

2.1.3.    To receive the FeeBack in any subsequent year of Cardmembership, the Cardmember must spend at least AED 40,000 on Purchase Transactions within the preceding twelve (12) month period prior to the Cardmembership anniversary date. If the Cardmember fulfills this condition, the Annual Membership Fee will be credited back on the month of the Cardmembership anniversary.

2.2.1.         The FeeBack programme is governed by the American Express Credit Card Cardmember Agreement Terms and Conditions. Any capitalized terms not defined herein shall have the same meaning given to such capitalized terms in the American Express Credit Card Cardmember Agreement, available on AEME’s website.

2.2.2.         Delinquent Cardmembers and Cardmembers whose accounts that are closed or terminated as of the anniversary date will not qualify for the FeeBack credit.

2.2.3.         Any Purchase Transaction made in a month during which the total amount outstanding on the Card Account exceeds the Credit Limit will not be calculated toward FeeBack.

2.2.4.         Any Purchase Transaction made in any month for which the Minimum Payment Due shown on the Statement of Account is not paid by the Due Date shown on the Statement of Account will not be calculated toward FeeBack.

2.2.5.         Any amounts that are subsequently re-credited to the Account because of refunds or credit adjustments processed by AEME will not be calculated toward FeeBack.

2.2.6.         The sum total of Basic and Supplementary Cardmember Purchase Transactions will be combined into the Basic Cardmember’ Statement of Account.

2.2.7.         AEME assumes no responsibility and liability in offering FeeBack under the FeeBack programme.

2.2.8.         Cardmembers can contact AEME to determine the status of the FeeBack earned. Separate statements or any other correspondence on FeeBack earned will also be communicated on the monthly Statement of Account to be sent by AEME to Cardmembers.

2.2.9.         AEME has the right to debit the amount of FeeBack earned by the Cardmember in case the Annual Membership Fee was reversed due to any other reason or Card is fraudulent and/or the FeeBack has been earned on transactions that were subsequently cancelled or reversed or declared void.

2.2.10.   AEME has the right to change, alter, modify, amend, pre-pone, postpone any part(s) of the FeeBack programme including but not limited to amending the spend threshold at its sole discretion. AEME also reserves the right to continue or discontinue the FeeBack programme at any time at its discretion.

2.2.11.   AEME’s failure to enforce a particular term or condition does not constitute a waiver of that term or condition by AEME.

2.2.12.   All questions or disputes regarding eligibility for FeeBack will be resolved by AEME in its sole discretion.

3. Grocery Credit

3.1 A statement credit of AED 75 will be credited to the Basic Cardmember’s Card Account per Calendar Month (hereinafter “Grocery Credit”) upon fulfilling the Eligibility Criteria (as specified in clause 3.2. below). In a Calendar Month, the Grocery Credit will be credited to the Card Account in the 1st week of the following Calendar Month. The Grocery Credit will be reversed from the Card Account subsequently if an eligible Purchase Transaction or Eligible Grocery Purchase Transaction is reversed, canceled or found to be fraudulent. AEME reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate this Grocery Credit benefit at any time at its sole discretion.

3.2. Eligibility Criteria:

3.2.1. The Card Account must be enrolled into the Grocery Credit benefit by the Basic Cardmember, by registering through an AEME channel, such as, the AMEX MENA Mobile App or Online Services. The Grocery Credit will be calculated from the commencement of the Calendar Month of enrolment. This is a one-time enrolment, and the Card Account will remain enroled for this Grocery Credit benefit.

3.2.2. The overall spend based on Eligible Purchase Transactions on the Card Account must be at least AED 4,000 in a Calendar Month.

3.2.3. The overall spend on Eligible Grocery Purchase Transactions on the Card Account must be at least AED 1,000 in a Calendar Month.

3.2.4. The Card Account must not be blocked, canceled and must not have overdue payments on the Card.

3.3. Eligible Grocery Purchase Transactions:

3.3.1            Eligible Grocery Purchase Transactions: are all eligible Purchase Transactions (online or in-store) made on The American Express® Platinum Credit Card Account at a grocery store, as determined by AEME in its absolute sole discretion. AEME determines if a Purchase Transaction qualifies as an Eligible Grocery Purchase Transaction by using merchant category codes. Purchase Transactions at some departmental stores (online or in-store), aggregator applications selling a wide variety of items and third parties (such as Buy-Now-Pay-Later service providers, applications providing delivery services for various merchants, etc.) may not be considered as Eligible Grocery Transactions based on the merchant category code.

3.3.2            Eligible Grocery Purchase Transactions made by a Supplementary Cardmember will also be considered.

3.3.3            Total Eligible Purchase Transactions and Eligible Grocery Purchase Transactions are counted based on the Calendar Month and not on the period of the Statement of Account. AEME relies on Merchants to process Transactions within the same Calendar Month that a Purchase Transaction was made, in order for AEME to calculate whether a Cardmember met the requirements specified in Sub-clauses 3.2.2. and 3.2.3. (above). For example, if an eligible Purchase Transaction or Eligible Grocery Purchase Transaction was made on the last day of a Calendar Month, but the Merchant does not process that Purchase Transaction until the next day, then the Purchase Transaction will be counted in the following Calendar Month’s spend requirement (as specified in Sub-clauses 3.2.2. and 3.2.3.).

4. Dining Cashback

4.1 A cashback of 10% will be applied on Eligible Dining Purchase Transactions up to a maximum of AED 50 cashback per Calendar Month per Card Account and will be credited to the Card Account (hereinafter “Dining Cashback”) upon fulfilling the Eligibility Criteria (as specified in Clause 4.2. below). In a Calendar Month, the Dining Cashback will be credited to the Card Account in the 1st week of the following Calendar Month. The Dining Cashback will be reversed from the Card Account subsequently if an eligible Purchase Transaction or Eligible Dining Purchase Transaction is returned, canceled or found to be fraudulent. AEME reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate this Dining Cashback benefit at any time at its sole discretion.

4.2  Eligibility Criteria:

4.2.1            The Card Account must be enroled into the Dining Cashback benefit by the Basic Cardmember, by registering through an applicable AEME channel, such as, the AMEX MENA Mobile App or Online Services. The Dining Cashback will be calculated from the commencement of the Calendar Month of enrolment. This is a one-time enrolment, and the Card Account will remain enroled for the Dining Cashback benefit.

4.2.2            The overall spend based on Eligible Purchase Transactions on the Card Account must be at least AED 4,000 in a Calendar Month.

4.2.3            The Card Account must not be blocked, canceled and must not have overdue payments on the Card.

4.3   Eligible Dining Purchase Transactions:

4.3.1            Eligible Dining Purchase Transactions:  are all Eligible Purchase Transactions (online or in-store) made on The American Express® Platinum Credit Card Account at a restaurant, as determined by AEME in its absolute sole discretion. AEME determines if a Purchase Transaction qualifies as an Eligible Dining Purchase Transaction by using merchant category codes. For the avoidance of doubt, Purchase Transactions at convenience stores, supermarkets, grocery stores, cafeterias, caterers, theatre clubs, meeting venues etc. will not be considered as an Eligible Dining Purchase Transactions. Additionally, restaurants located within another Service Establishment (e.g., a restaurant inside a hotel, event venue, food court, or campus building etc.), some aggregator applications offering restaurant delivery services or third parties (such as Buy-Now-Pay-Later service providers, apps providing delivery services for various merchants, etc.) may not be considered as Dining Transactions and therefore may not be eligible.

4.3.2            Eligible Dining Purchase Transactions made by a Supplementary Cardmember will also be considered.

4.3.3            Total Eligible Purchase Transactions and Eligible Dining Purchase Transactions are counted based on the Calendar Month and not on the period of the Statement of Account. AEME relies on Merchants to process Transactions within the same Calendar Month that a Purchase Transaction was made, in order for AEME to calculate whether a Cardmember met the requirements specified in Sub-clause 4.2.2. (above). For example, if an eligible Purchase Transaction or Eligible Dining Purchase Transaction was made on the last day of a Calendar Month, but the Merchant does not process that Purchase Transaction until the next day, then the Purchase Transaction will be counted in the following Calendar Month’s spend requirement (as specified in Sub-clause 4.2.2.).
